What an AI report summary includes
AI report summaries provide a concise executive overview of the most important findings in a report. Instead of describing every result separately, the AI connects related findings and highlights what matters most.
Depending on the available data, the summary can include:
- KPIs and response statistics
- Positive and negative findings
- Changes over time
- Benchmark comparisons
- Notable differences between segments
The AI uses selected numbers to support the main insights rather than listing all available values. It uses only the information available in the report, and some numeric values may be rounded for readability.
Where you can create an AI report summary
You can create an AI report summary with:
- Expert report
- Dashboard
Add a static AI report summary in an Expert report
You can add an AI report summary in step 5 of the report wizard, Settings.
Note: Expert reports support static AI report summaries only.
The summary reflects the report content available when you generate it. For a summary that updates when the report content changes, use a Dashboard.
- Create an Expert report and complete the Report Wizard until you reach step 5, Settings.
- In the AI report summary section, click Generate AI summary.

- In the configuration dialog, select the summary settings.

- Summary language: Select the language for the generated text.
- Summary length: Select the level of detail: 100, 200, or 400 words.
- Review the Cost per run and the credits available in the account.
- Click Generate. Survalyzer analyzes the report content and creates the summary on the first page of the Expert report. You can then review the remaining settings in this step before completing the Report wizard.

Add an AI report summary in Dashboard

1. Open the report and go to Report pages.
2. Click Add content.
3. Select AI summary.

4. Select Report summary.
5. Configure the summary settings.

- Summary type
- Static: Generates the summary once. Select the summary language and length, then review the credit cost and available credits. These settings work the same as in an Expert Report.
- Dynamic: Regenerates the summary when the analyzed report content changes. See When a dynamic AI report summary is regenerated for details.
- Summary language: Works the same as for a static AI report summary in an Expert Report.
- Summary length: Works the same as for a static AI report summary in an Expert Report.
The AI Report Summary always uses the report filters applied to the analyzed data.
6. Review the credit cost and the available credits in your account.
7. Click Add to report.
Survalyzer adds the summary to the first report Introduction page.
Note: If you select dynamic summary, Survalyzer creates editable placeholder, where the number stands for its length (number of words expected):

When a dynamic summary is regenerated
A new dynamic AI report summary is generated when the analyzed report content changes, including:
- Changes to report filters or raw data
- Changes to table configuration or filters that affect calculations
- Adding or removing a report page
- Adding or removing a report slot of any type
- Changing any visible report text
The summary isn’t regenerated for changes that don’t affect the visible report content analyzed by AI, such as:
- Adding or removing an empty layout row.
- Adding or removing a report language (the summary is generated for the language currently displayed in the report, so changes to other report languages don’t affect the current summary).
Credit usage
When you configure the summary, the dialog shows the cost per generation and the credits available in the account before you add it.
For a dynamic summary, credits are deducted each time a new summary is generated.

If the account doesn’t have enough credits, the summary can’t be generated.
If the report viewer reopens a report and none of the items listed in When a dynamic summary is regenerated section have changed, the caching mechanism prevents Survalyzer from regenerating the summary and incurring additional credit charges. If your dashboard has 3 languages and a viewer switch between all of them, credits will be deducted for each language version.

FAQ
Can I edit the AI-generated summary after it has been created?
Yes. If you use a static AI-generated summary, you can manually review and adjust the text after it has been generated. Edition of Dynamic AI Report Summaries is not supported.
Is the AI-generated summary included in report exports?
Yes. Both static and Dynamic AI Report Summaries are included in report exports.
Are there any limits on how much data the AI can analyze at once?
This feature uses the standard 1M tokens context window. If report will go above that limit, it will display an error informing that AI summary cannot be generated.
