Working with Online Raw Data Editor

Introduction

The Online Raw Data Editor helps Survalyzer users manage survey raw data directly in the browser.

You can use it to view, filter, edit, delete, download, or upload survey data without working in an Excel file first.

Use the Online Raw Data Editor when you need to make small changes or check specific interviews. For larger updates, such as changing many interviews at once or adding many records, we recommend using the Excel raw data upload workflow instead.

For larger raw data updates, see: Upload excel raw data (delete, edit, or add interviews).

How to access the Online Raw Data Editor

  1. Open the survey you want to work with.
  2. Go to the Analyze tab.
  3. On the right side, find the Raw data management section.
  4. Choose the Edit option.

Feature Availability by Plan

The Online Raw Data Editor lets you access and manage survey raw data directly in Survalyzer, without downloading a full Excel export first.

The feature is available to all Survalyzer users. However, the available actions depend on your license plan. Use the table below to check which actions are included in your plan.

What this means:

With a Professional License, you can view, filter, download, and delete raw data.

With an Expert License or Enterprise plan, you can also edit raw data online and upload data to edit or update existing interviews.

If you do not see one of these options in your survey, your license plan may not include it. You can also check with your Survalyzer administrator to confirm your permissions.

Working with the Online Raw Data Editor

Adjust Columns

Use Adjust Columns to choose which data columns you want to see in the Online Raw Data Editor. This helps you focus only on the information you need and keeps the table easier to read.

Edit Raw Data

Use Edit when you want to correct single answers or make small changes to existing interviews.

This is useful for minor corrections, for example when a value was entered incorrectly or when a specific interview needs to be checked.

Delete Interview

Use Delete only when you are sure that the selected raw data is no longer needed.

Before deleting data, we recommend downloading a backup export. Deleted or changed raw data can affect reports, dashboards, and analysis results.

Filter Interviews

Use Filter to narrow down the raw data and show only the interviews or answers you want to review. This makes it easier to find specific records, check data quality, or download only the filtered results.

Download Raw Data

Use Download when you want to export survey raw data and work with it outside Survalyzer.

If you have filters active in the Online Raw Data Editor, the downloaded file will include only the data that matches these filters.

Upload Raw Data: Change Raw Data by Excel Upload

Use Upload when you want to add, update, or change raw data with an Excel file.

This option is better for larger updates, because it allows you to work with many records at once.

Save changes

Click Save once you finish making changes.

Can I edit many interviews at once online?

The Online Raw Data Editor is best for small corrections and single-record checks. For larger updates, we recommend using Excel upload, because it is easier to prepare and review bulk changes there.
