TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 disabled

We disabled TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 encryption protocols on the Survalyzer admin web services. Doing so prevents these protocols from being used to access the admin server via an insecure web browser or application.

If you use Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 on Windows 8 or 7  you will no longer have access to your account without making changes to your browser settings.

We can’t recommend that you continue to use Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 when a newer version is available. Instead, we recommend you install either the latest version of Internet Explorer or another supported browser.

If you feel it’s necessary though, the following workaround should keep your credentials and data safe while using Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10.

If you use Windows Vista, Windows XP or earlier, you will not be able to use Internet Explorer to access your account. Switch to Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. (Better still, upgrade to Windows 7 or newer).

TKT-17523: Refinement of naming conventions

In the past month we had several complaints about surveys which could not be activated. All cases had the same root cause: duplicate variables!

The current implementation checks for duplicate variables but there are many implicit variables with are generated by the system especially in the context of matrix questions. All implicit variables use the underscore as segment separator.

By allowing additionally the usage of the segment separator in the code the same problematic as for comas in csv files apply. It is not distinguishable any longer if it is semantically a segment or part of the segments name.

To mitigate this issue, we don’t allow the usage of underscores in codes any longer. To ensure backward compatibility we omit the hard enforcement on activated surveys. The new rule only applies if surveys need to be revised.
