If you have purchased the Survalyzer Community Extension with the Portal, you can configure a custom URL address for your project. This allows you to use a unique URL for the portal developed by Survalyzer.
Below you will find step-by-step instructions on how to configure this.
Step 1: Choose the domain name for the portal
We recommend portal.yourcompany.com as the address for running the portal. However, you can choose a different domain for running the portal. Please note that the surveys will run on a different domain (see here).
You should also inform the Survalyzer Team that you want to configure your own domain for your portal, and provide details of the chosen URL.
Step 2: Provide information about the SSL certificate
There are 2 options to issue a SSL certificate:
Option 1: Survalyzer offers an SSL certificate managed by the AFD (Azure Front Door). This option means less work for both you and Survalyzer. The certificate managed by the AFD will be auto-rotate in 45 days ahead of expiry, with exceptions for CNAMEs pointing to other DNS resources. The entire process is handled by the Survalyzer as part of the Microsoft Azure Front Door service.
Option 2: In case you have regulatory constraints which makes it necessary to use your own certificate with a CSR please contact sales@survalyzer.com to discuss the BYOC (bring your own certificate) process for the portal domain.
Step 3: Survalyzer generates a unique key for the TXT record value
As soon as you provide the Survalyzer team with the portal’s URL, our team will proceed to generate a unique key for the TXT record, the value of which you will need to use in the fourth step.
Step 4: Configure the CNAME and TXT records
Once you have provided all the information, you will need to set up a CNAME record linking your domain to the Survalyzer portal’s URL. After completing this step, please inform our Survalyzer Team so that the relevant portal domain can be updated in the portal’s configuration files.
To verify the connection to the domain, you must also add a TXT record: the name and value required for this record are provided by the Survalyzer Team, as described in the third step.
